[09コ-ポ-09] Learning Trajectories and Transformation of Coaching Philosophy of High-Performance Coaches in Paraguay— A Qualitative Study Using Rappaport Timeline —

This study aims to clarify the structure of learning opportunities and the process of career formation for Sports Coaches in Paraguay. Addressing the challenge that the systematization of Coach development systems in the country is limited, this research aims to provide foundational materials for the construction of a National Coaching system by the Paraguayan National Secretariat of Sports (SND). As a research method, semi-structured interviews utilizing the Rappaport Timeline (RTL) were conducted with three High-Performance Coaches. The obtained data were transcribed verbatim and qualitatively analyzed using thematic analysis, with Jarvis (2006, 2007, 2008)'s “Lifelong Learning” and Nelson et al. (2006)'s classification of learning (formal, non-formal, informal) as the theoretical frameworks. This report presents findings specific to the Paraguayan context regarding the role of informal learning and the process by which Coaching philosophy transforms into “People Development (Formador de personas).”
