Which can be used in shallow rivers, development of a microplastic sampling device

In this study, we developed a collection device to enable the collection of microplastics in the Shakujii River that flows near Johoku High School. In addition, as a result of multiple sampling attempts to confirm the performance of the created device, several objects that appeared to be plastic were identified.

Senior high school students provide poster presentations on subjects in fields of earth and planetary sciences. This session provides an opportunity for senior high school students to give their presentations in the JpGU meeting and to have discussions with researchers. This session has been conducted as a public outreach session since 2006.
