One of the problems for bamboo in the damage caused by abandoned groves. If proper maintenance is taken, bamboo grow, so we can get bamboo shoots to eat and use the bamboo poles for many purposes. However, if the groves are not managed and conserved, they will almost immediately become wild, causing damage to the surrounding environment.
The objective of this study was to clarify various physical parameters related to soils that play a central role in the bamboo grove habitat and to find directions for future management, such as bamboo cutting and fertilizer application.
The land was used as a mandarin orchard until about 50 years ago, then it was planted with moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis).
Soil-profile surveys were conducted in accordance with the revised edition of the Soil Survey Handbook. The results of the soil-profile surveys did not identify any problematic soil horizons. Also, the results of the soil penetration strength, three phase distribution of soil, and soil permeability were adequate.
