The astronomy community is well-known for its so-called Virtual Observatory, which allowed to efficiently open and share astronomy datasets using community-standard interoperable tools and protocols. With the generalisation of open-science, the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) are now the new normal. However, astronomy standards are trapped into their own ecosystem, with a rather steep learning curve. The astronomy standard are recognized as FAIR-enablers, but the generic FAIR assessment metrics and tools are not aware of the specifics of this community. Thansk to the OSTRAILS(*) project, we are preparing new FAIR metrics relevant to the astronomy community. We are also testing implementations to further improve the FAIRness of astronomy products.
