Single Scattering Albedo (SSA) represents the relative contribution of scattering to aerosol extinction and plays an important role in climate change assessment. SSA is typically derived from ground-based aerosol optical networks; however, it is limited to daytime measurements under clear-sky conditions. This study aims to compare in-situ and column measurements, as well as clear-sky and other atmospheric conditions. The measurements were conducted at the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) station in Anmyeon Island (36.59°N, 126.33°E), a background site in Korea. Aerosol scattering coefficients were measured with a nephelometer (TSI 3563, TSI), and absorption coefficients were obtained using an aethalometer (AE33, Magee Scientific). Columnar SSA was retrieved from the co- located Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET; Anmyeon). The observations were carried out over a six-year period from 2020 to 2025. SSA measured under clear-sky daytime conditions was typically lower than that obtained when all weather conditions were considered. This is because clear-sky daytime conditions are associated with relatively strong solar radiation, leading to lower relative humidity which can suppress hygroscopic growth of aerosols resulting in lower SSA.
