[HDS11-P13]Survey and Analysis of Corporate and Organizational Responses to the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information and the Off the Coast of Hokkaido and Sanriku Subsequent Earthquake Advisory

1. Introduction
On August 8, 2024, the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information (Megathrust Earthquake Attention) was issued for the first time. The Real-time Earthquake and Disaster Information Consortium (REIC) conducted a questionnaire survey of its member companies and organizations to understand their responses, initiatives, and the issues identified, with the aim of utilizing the findings for future disaster prevention measures.
One year has passed since the previous survey, and a follow-up survey was therefore conducted. In addition, we investigated responses to the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information (under analysis) issued in 2025, tsunami warnings/advisories, and the Off the Coast of Hokkaido and Sanriku Subsequent.
2. Outline of the Questionnaire Survey
The survey was conducted from February 16 to April 7, 2026, and was sent to 65 companies and organizations.Questions regarding the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra InformationThe questionnaire consisted of the following 10 questions:
① The results of the 2024 survey are available on the members-only website. Please provide any comments or suggestions regarding the questionnaire to help improve future survey methods.
② Are you aware of what the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information is?
③ Compared to 2024, has your understanding of the contents of the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information and the flow of response deepened?
④ Has your organization’s perception of risk regarding the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information changed compared to the previous survey?
⑤ What is the current status of your Business Continuity Plan (BCP)?
⑥ Does your BCP include references to the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information or related response guidelines?
⑦ Please explain the reasons for whether or not your BCP includes such descriptions or response guidelines.
⑧ Have you conducted awareness-raising or educational activities for employees regarding the Nankai Trough Earthquake Extra Information? Please select the most appropriate answer.
