歯科が専門的に扱う口腔は，消化管の入り口である．消化管の役割は，食物を消化・吸収し栄養として摂取することである．超高齢社会を迎えた現在，リハビリテーション・栄養・口腔の三位一体の取り組みなど，歯科と栄養の連携はますます重要になると考えられる．そこで本シンポジウムでは，日本栄養治療学会との共催により，歯科医師と管理栄養士のそれぞれの立場から歯科と栄養の連携について議論し，今後の展望を模索する．
