The performance of oxide solar cells with the Cu2O photovoltaic layer are increasing from 0.3% at 2003 to 9.5% at 2023 FY year by year, and the Cu₂O solar cell has an attracted increasing attention as a top cell in Si-tandem solar cell. The effects of the electrical characteristics, buffer layer material and the insertion, and nanostructure introduction on the performance will be presented in this presentation, and the enhancement of the performance of the Cu2O solar cell and the future will be discussed.
