To improve the quantum efficiency of photocathode, surface plasmon resonance was introduced and excitation light was coupled with ATR arrangement. As a result, the photocurrent was increased by 9 times maximumly. However, the value was much lower than expectation. The oscillation direction of the plasmon polariton did not match with the direction for electron emission into vacuum direction Scattering process was needed for electron emission to change momentum of electron. In this study, by introducing plasmonic crystals for photocathode, ATR coupling would not be required and quantum efficiency would be increased, since the plasmonic crystal has the micro-structure, where the momentums between plasmon polariton and emission direction would be matched.
