Diamond has its unique properties like NEA (Negative Electron Affinity) in the surface, where free electrons and/or free excitons propagate in to the vacuum without any energy barriers. According to Spicer's 3 step model, we could consider the evaluation method of their diffusion length in bulk, and we elucidated these numbers in experiments.
