In this talk, we will discuss a 3D optical sensing device based on a hybrid Time-of-Flight (ToF) measurement method that leverages the advantages of both conventional direct ToF and indirect ToF measurement techniques, with applications anticipated in autonomous mobile robots and autonomous vehicles. We will touch upon recent research developments, such as LiDAR capable of megapixel 100m-class distance measurement even under intense sunlight, mitigation of multipath interference through compressed sensing, and ultra-high-resolution ToF measurement methods enabling 3D modeling using light. Additionally, we will explore the current state and future trends in this field.
