Although in vitro experiments in optopharmacology are progressing, there are currently very few reports on in vivo experiments because there are no implantable devices that can deliver light and drugs in vivo. Therefore, we have begun developing a multifunctional probe that integrates light irradiation, potential recording, and drug delivery functions. In this study, we report on the development of a multifunctional micro-LED probe applicable to high-resolution photopharmacology experiments in the hippocampus of living mice.
