We have synthesised magnetic microparticles by thermal decomposition and reaction of flavonoids, a component of botanical origin, using supercritical fluids as a reaction ground, and observed their fluorescence from the resulting liquid residues. The microparticles obtained were found to have iron embedded within them. On the other hand, the fluorescent substances in the residues were suggested to be CQDs by Raman and XRD. The toxicity results obtained for these substances suggest that they may have possible applications in the field of biotechnology.
