Urea, widely used as a nitrogen fertilizer, is hydrolyzed by urease—an enzyme found in plants and soil—producing ammonia. In this study, we investigated n-type doping of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) using ammonia generated from a urea-urease aqueous solution. This approach is an attempt to apply biochemical reactions in plants to modulate electrical characteristics, with potential for environmentally responsive device technologies.
