[9a-N107-5]Synthesis of YTe3 Thin Films by In-Situ Heating of Y/Te Multilayer Precursor

Layered tellurides RTe3 (R = rare earth) show charge density wave. However, thin film synthesis of RTe3 is difficult due to the high evaporation pressure of Te. In this study, we synthesized (010)-oriented YTe3 thin films by in-situ annealing of [Y/Te] multilayer precursor just after deposition. By synthesizing the films on various substrates and buffer layers, we obtained YTe3 films with both high coverage and good crystallinity. In the presentation, we will also report on details of thin film synthesis and electrical conduction properties of YTe3 films.
