This study focuses on enhancing the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 by utilizing localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of Au nanoparticles. Previous research confirmed that the TiO2/Au/TiO2/Au (IMIM) multilayer structure exhibits high photocatalytic activity, but its enhancement mechanism remained unclear. In this study, TiO2/Au (IM), Au/TiO2/Au (MIM), and IMIM structures were fabricated and compared to elucidate the mechanism behind the photocatalytic activity improvement of the IMIM structure.
