We focus on nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond as a platform for realizing quantum repeaters. Remote entanglement generation occurs probabilistically in emission-absorption-based quantum repeaters. Here, we demonstrate that the probability of remote entanglement is increased by repeatedly emitting entangled photons while preserving the quantum state, leveraging the nitrogen spin as a quantum memory. This results in an enhanced quantum repeater rate.
