This study demonstrates the effective microwave plasma reduction of dysprosium oxide (Dy2O3). We mixed dysprosium oxide with copper powder and pressed them into pellets as the raw material. The reaction was conducted at a precise temperature of 900°C for one hour, using a microwave magnetic field to excite magnesium plasma as the reductant. The products of this reaction were thoroughly characterized through powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and magnetic property analysis. Our analyses unequivocally confirmed the presence of dysprosium (Dy).
