In recent years, the development of next-generation rechargeable batteries has been under way, and magnesium rechargeable batteries have attracted particular attention as a candidate. On the other hand, the strong electrostatic interaction between divalent Mg ions and oxide ions in the cathode material makes it difficult to insert and desorb magnesium ions. Therefore, this study focused on the partial substitution of MgMn2O4, which exhibits high discharge capacity, and attempted to improve the cathode properties by partially replacing Mn with V. The effects of V substitution on the average and local structures were investigated in detail.
