In recent years, the digital transformation of research activities has been accelerating. With advancements in experimental automation and data-driven science, the efficient management of experimental data and its accumulation in alignment with FAIR principles have become increasingly important. We are utilizing electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) to promote the development of research infrastructures for data integration and management. This lecture will outline the selection, implementation, and practical use cases of ELNs, with a focus on their applications in materials informatics and automated experimentation.
