Layered nickelates have two-dimensional NiO₂ plane and their crystal and electronic structures are very similar to those of high-Tc cuprates. Therefore, the emergence of superconductivity had been expected. Recently superconductivity was discovered in LnNiO₂, Nd₆Ni₅O₁₂ thin films and La₃Ni₂O₇, La₄Ni₃O₁₀ under high pressure. In order to obtain further understandings of layered nickelates and to aim to application use, the superconductivity in bulk sample under ambient pressure is strongly hoped. In this talk, the attempts for emergence of superconductivity in bulk layered nickelate in ambient pressure will be presented.
