Recently, a bilayered nickel oxide that may exhibit tetragonal structure under ambient pressure was theoretically proposed by Ochi et al. The candidate material has a layered RP-type structure with a composition ratio of Sr3Ni3O5Cl2, a compound that has not been synthesized experimentally. In this study, we aimed to synthesize Sr3Ni2O5Cl2 using a high-pressure synthesis method.
