We investigated the mechanism of enhanced optical chirality in the near field by exciting unidirectional rotational plasmon modes through circularly polarized light irradiation on plasmonic nanostructures. The notable wavelength-dependent difference observed between complementary disc and hole structures, which share the same resonant wavelength, can be explained by a model calculation introducing the phase-delay characteristics of the enhanced near field relative to the incident light.
