In this presentation, we will discuss the current status of research and development in extreme lasers, focusing on both hard X-ray lasers and ultra-high strength optical elements, which led to receiving the 26th Optics and Quantum Electronics Achievement Award (Takuma Hiroshi Award). Regarding hard X-ray lasers, we will introduce research spanning from conceptual development to the anticipated future applications of frequency-stabilized lasers. As for ultra-high strength optical elements, we will cover the initial development of ozone optical elements and a novel method for generating pulsed lasers through light accumulation.
