In this study, we attempted to design a cell with a simple structure consisting of only a perovskite semiconductor layer, excluding charge transport layers such as hole transport materials and electron transport materials. The solution was to introduce a monolayer that controls the selective transport (rectification) of electrons and holes at the heterojunction interface. The authors fabricated a cell configuration without a charge transport layer by asymmetrically placing oriented self-assembled molecular films (SAMs) at the interfaces of the positive electrode/perovskite and the negative electrode/perovskite, and succeeded in extracting photoelectric conversion properties for several perovskite compositions. In cell fabrication, we found that a good quality crystal film can be formed by using a method that utilizes ion migration in perovskite crystal particles for fusion between particles. Since the fabricated cell is not affected by the changes in physical properties caused by the charge transport material, it was shown that the cell not only has extremely stable photoelectric conversion properties with small hysteresis, but also maintains long life properties under continuous light irradiation for several hundred hours.
