Nd-doped Cs2O-BaO-P2O5 glass-ceramic scintillators were synthesized by the melt-quenching technique. The obtained samples exhibited scintillation in the near-infrared reagion, which originated from 4f-4f transitions of Nd3+. Their X-ray dose rate response functions were evaluated, and good linearity was observed at dose rates of 6–6000 mGy/h. The lower detection limit of X-ray dose rate was 3.5 mGy/h with our measurement setup, which was superior to Nd-doped infamous single crystalline scintillators.
