Soft tactile sensors that emulate human touch sensation are expected to be applied in robotic hands and prosthetic limbs as they can detect force sensation in real-time during grasping. Previously, we have worked on improving the sensitivity of a resistance-based soft hardness sensor. However, it remained unclear whether object identification was possible using the measured data. In this study, we classified biological tissues (edible meat) using the developed hardness sensor and a random forest.
