A new evaluation method is desired to replace soil flakes in soil observations. We focused on ultrasonic microscopy, which visualizes ultrasonic properties of samples with a high resolution on the order of 10 μm. In this report, we acquired the first ultrasonic impedance images of granite, a mineral that constitutes soil, using an 80 MHz focused ultrasonic 6 images were acquired and stitched together in a 4.8 x 4.8 mm2 area. The acoustic impedance distribution of feldspar, mica, and quartz allowed us to distinguish between them.
