It is known that quantum OCT (optical coherence tomography) with entangled two-photon light has some beneficial features such as an immunity to group-velocity dispersion and an improvement in axial resolution. To take advantage of these features without difficulty, we have been studying quantum-mimetic OCT that achieves them with a bright classical source. In this study, we demonstrate that quantum OCT signals having these characteristics may be reproduced, to a considerable extent, using conventional spectral-domain OCT signals. The practical importance of this method is also addressed.
