To enhance the open-circuit voltage of organic solar cells utilizing semiconducting polymers based on a vinylene-bridged bis(difluoroquinoxaline) (FQxE) as an acceptor and terthiophene as a donor, we synthesized two FQxE-based semiconducting polymers incorporating distinct donor units. Additionally, we systematically investigated the impact of these donor units on the polymer’s physicochemical properties, thin-film structures, and the photovoltaic performance of organic solar cells paired with representative low-bandgap n-type semiconductors.
