In next-generation mobile communications (6G), the use of THz waves as wireless carriers is under consideration. If carrier conversion from THz waves to near-infrared light can be applied to communications, existing optical communication platforms could be utilized without modification. To realize this "All-optical THz detection," we are exploring the use of an optical comb as the optical carrier and an electro-optic polymer (EOP) modulator as the THz/optical carrier converter. In this report, we evaluate eye patterns by comparing and examining demodulation methods for modulated THz waves.
