Rashba effect
Our group has found that when the crystallinity of the heavy metal layer is made metastable at an interface composed of a heavy metal and a nonmagnetic metal, the interfacial electric field is significantly changed and the Rashba-type spin-orbit interaction is enhanced. Therefore, it is expected that the spin-orbit interaction strength can be increased by tuning the interfacial distortion, thereby controlling the spin current properties. In the present study, we investigate the strain dependence of the Rashba-type spin-orbit interaction in the interfacial structure in detail.
