The mechanism of heart morphogenesis remains largely unknown, with physical stimuli suggested to play a role. In this study, we exposed the early-stage hearts of chick embryos to 10 MHz ultrasound and continuously observed their development using an integrated observation system combining a shell-less culture method and SS-OCT. The results revealed stenosis near the cardiac outflow tract and inhibited looping. We discuss the effects of ultrasound on cardiac looping based on differences in its intensity.
