It is known that even cells of the same type exhibit variations in the expression levels of proteins and nucleic acids at the single-cell level. Therefore, controlling and understanding cellular functions at the single-cell level is crucial for unraveling biological phenomena. In this study, we aimed to develop novel methods to control the functions of living single cells by combining plasmonic nanowires with photoresponsive molecules. Our goal was to establish a technology that enables the intracellular delivery of biomolecules to specific locations within a live-cell and the detection of target molecules at designated intracellular locations.
