With the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), programmable photonic integrated circuits (PICs) utilizing silicon photonics have gained significant attention. In this study, we demonstrate a low-loss, broadband, and non-volatile optical switch by employing a wide-bandgap phase change material, Ge2Sb2Te3S3 (GSTS) in a microring resonator (MRR) as an optical intensity modulator.
