BaTiO3–Bi(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3–BiFeO3 (BT–BMT–BF) ceramics with a pseudocubic symmetry exhibited excellent ferroelectricity and piezoelectricity, attracting attention as an alternative to Pb-based ceramics. The application of an electric field causes off-center Bi ions at the corner positions of the unit cell to partially ordered to the electric field direction, resulting in lattice distortion and the emergence of superior piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties. In this study, synchrotron X-ray diffraction experiments under DC and AC electric fields were conducted at SPring-8 to measure lattice distortion, and the results are reported here.
