Recently, a new peptide (XH)4 has been designed. It has been shown to self-assemble on graphite surfaces under pure water to form monolayers, and is expected to be applied to enzyme sensors. However, it is not yet clear that the self-assembled structure is maintained under pH optimal for catalytic activity. In this study, we aimed to observe the self-assembled structure of (XH)4 peptides on graphite at different pH of peptide solutions and to evaluate the effect of pH on the self-assembled structure. We also compared the changes in the structure of different hydrophobic amino acids X.
