Highly stretchable and ultra-flexible wearable devices enable the realization of low-burden healthcare sensors. In this study, we investigated the effects of substrate material, film thickness, and gold layer thickness on strain sensors utilizing gold microcracks. We examined how these factors influence the change in resistance during strain, durability, and hysteresis of resistance under strain. As a result, we developed a stretchable strain sensor with high skin conformability and reliability. Due to its exceptional softness, the developed sensor successfully measured eyelid strain, which is crucial for healthcare and human-computer interaction (HCI) applications.
