The emission process is a complex phenomenon involving multiple vibronic transitions, making it crucial to elucidate its mechanism and predict its characteristics. Theoretical analysis of an MR-TADF material, BNSS, revealed that delayed fluorescence occurs through a complex pathway involving the T2 state. Furthermore, analysis of a molecule where sulfur (S) in BNSS was replaced with tellurium (Te) (BNTeTe) suggested that the heavy atom effect of Te accelerates the reverse intersystem crossing without negatively affecting other photophysical properties.
