Research on the interaction between MeV ion beams and liquids is related to many applied studies, such as elucidation of radiolysis in the Bragg Peak region in particle beam cancer therapy and analysis of gas-liquid interfaces using ion beams. To conduct such research, a technique is needed to create a liquid target in a vacuum. In this presentation, we will report on a new technology to create liquid sheets whose thickness can be adjusted to several hundred nanometers. We present the results of sheet thickness measurements using Rutherford backscattering and discuss the properties of liquid sheets.
