Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is attracting attention as a functional nanomaterial due to its characteristic self-assembled molecular structure. We are aiming to realize novel device applications of DNA thin films by using laser molecular beam deposition (LMBD), which enables hybrid molecular layer deposition on a wide range of inorganic and organic materials (T. Murata et al., Bull. Chem. Soc. Jpn., 96, 29 (2022).). In this study, we have developed a new method for the fragmentation of raw DNA. In this study, we evaluated the effect of fragmentation of raw DNA on the properties of DNA thin films.
