Wearable robots are currently attracting attention as power assist devices for medical and nursing care applications, and expectations for soft and active actuators are increasing. In this study, the electrothermal polymer (ETP) actuators were fabricated by laminating a novel elastomer exhibiting excellent entropic elasticity near room temperature with a stretchable conductive polymer. The driving mechanism and electromechanical characteristics of the ETP actuators were investigated in detail, where the maximum work density reached more than 40 times than real muscle.
