[17a-K507-3]4D Observation of Noodle Boiling Process Using High-Speed X-ray Imager ‘HAYAKA’

In order to elucidate the noodle boiling process and find a more delicious cooking method, we observed the boiling process of somen noodles using the high-speed X-ray camera "HAYAKA" developed at SAGA LS with synchrotron radiation 4D-CT (three-dimensional spatial + four-dimensional temporal observation). We successfully observed with 0.5-second temporal resolution, showing that as the boiling time progressed, hot water penetrated the noodles, and bubbles formed in areas where water penetrated.
