(Bi0.5Na0.5)TiO3 (BNT) ceramics are potential high-power piezoelectric materials because of their relatively high piezoelectricity. However, the sintering temperature of BNT ceramics is as high as 1140 °C, hence Bi volatilization is a problem. To solve this problem, in this study, we focused on the densification of pressed bulk powders by hydrothermal synthesis for further low-temperature sintering. The BNT formation process under various hydrothermal and starting material conditions will be discussed in the presentation.
