When a bilayer of Ag and GeS2 is exposed to light near the absorption edge of GeS2, Ag diffuses into GeS2. This photodoping of Ag into amorphous GeS2 films with different preparation conditions has been studied using neutron reflectometry. In the case of the sample without annealing GeS2, the formation of reaction layer was observed before light irradiation. After about 2 minutes of light irradiation, an intermediate layer with smaller scattering length density (SLD) than GeS2 was formed between Ag and GeS2 film. After about 7 minutes, Ag on the surface disappeared completely. Then, the SLD of the surface layer decreased. Finally, an oxidation layer was observed on the surface.
