In recent years, methods of intervening in neural activity based on photopharmacology have been attracting attention in order to elucidate brain function. We have conducted photopharmacological experiments using LED probes in anesthetized mice and demonstrated that light irradiation activates EEG activity in a specific frequency range. Based on these results, we report on the development of a flow path/electrode probe and its junction technology with the LED probe to realize a hybrid junction probe that integrates light irradiation, drug administration, and potential recording.
