We have been producing diethylzinc, a precursor for ZnO thin films, and have developed CLESCORT, ZnO coating agent that includes diethylzinc and can be handled easily. We have applied this technology to medical vials and succeeded in developing light-shielding vials for pharmaceuticals that are unstable against ultraviolet light. However, some pharmaceuticals may also require shielding from visible light. Thus we have developed a visible light shielding grade of CLESCORT, by adding Fe2O3, which has a wider band gap, to the ZnO thin film.
