Electronic state mapping of monolayer graphene edge structures was performed using STEM-EELS. Although no contrast difference was theoretically expected, a clear contrast difference was experimentally observed in the carbon C K-ELNES maps. In this presentation, the qualitative interpretation of the observed contrast is discussed, and the usefulness of this approach is demonstrated.
