By employing a photocathode electron gun, ultrafast phenomena can be visualized using electron microscopy. To improve the performance of photocathode electron guns, we focused on the metallic compound LaB6, which has a long lifetime and a low work function, and fabricated thin films using pulsed laser deposition (PLD). In this study, deposition conditions were investigated, and the surface morphology and crystal structure of the films were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). As a result, we confirmed that lowering the laser intensity suppresses droplet formation.
