Using tracking and computation programs created with generative AI, we analyzed high-speed video recordings of a rolling cylinder and a falling rod. The cylinder and rod were fabricated with a 3D printer. By placing multiple markers, rotational motion could also be analyzed, and velocity and acceleration were computed from position data. For the rolling cylinder, acceleration was obtained via quadratic regression of the position data; for the falling rod, the coefficient of friction at the contact point was estimated from the acceleration of the center of mass. This approach is effective for inquiry-based learning that integrates physics and information science.
